The Mask
It's easy to forget how great Doom is because all your admiration has to be tempered by a real sense of disorientation. Usually, as he deadpans a verse, he reveals a mind as twisted as it is fertile. And if you take the time to consider "bubble lips, sorrowless midget" (a description of a child prostitute...I think), everything else gets lost in his unrelenting flurry and you're left confused.
That, and he wears an iron mask in all his public appearances.
Check out MM Food, just one of his albums that stands up to anything anyone ever made in hip hop.
