And we don't dive, we cannonballThis has really been the song of the month and a half. I've been feeding off the energy of this song and the debut album it comes from for so long. And for so long, I didn't really want to write about it.
Sometimes, my endless musing on music spoils songs for me. I end up forgetting that what I'm hearing is special in my quest to figure out exactly what's so special about it. But now, the frenetic fingerpicking doesn't sound so frantic to me and the chorus doesn't make me want to sing aloud on subway platforms and crowded sidewalks. I just get a quick thrill and smile inwardly ("this is a damn good song"), nodding and swaying almost imperceptibly. So, it's time to share it.
Honestly, I don't know where to start talking about the song or the album. I'll just say it's great and it's been the soundtrack to a lot of the best moments of a pretty shitty January/February. Enjoy..and tell your friends...and sorry for getting all blog-y on you.
