Sometimes, you can hear his potential as he uses his considerable intelligence to pen some incisive, articulate and thrillingly-layered lyrics. And, other times, he falls back to rote rap-isms - rhyming about his clothes, hos and bankrolls. It's a bad habit that he just can't kick.
But, he's trying. And, when he succeeds (like on "Littlest Things"), it's usually to dazzling effect.
